EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

Our Educational Philosophy is based upon our vision for our school – a place where Catholic values are taught in a Christian environment.  Our school has a reputation for being a strong school that provides high quality education and a school climate that says it is our belief that children can develop individual gifts and talents to their full potential.  Our aim is to create a truly Catholic and Christian community in which each individual, child, parent, staff member and casual visitor feels loved, appreciated, needed and respected as a unique creation of God with God-given gifts which are blessings to us all.  Within this community, where we strive to have "one heart and one soul", we endeavour to help each member of the school community to develop his or her abilities and skills.

Our mandate is based on these premises:

We Believe the aim of Catholic Education is to provide the opportunity for students to develop morally, socially, intellectually and physically in a manner that is modeled on the life of Jesus Christ.

We Believe parents are the prime educators of their children.  They have the responsibility to work with the school and the Parish in providing Catholic education for their children.

We Believe the school has the formal responsibility to ensure that our Catholic beliefs and traditions permeate all aspects of the school experience.

We believe the child is the centre of the education that is provided.  The Catholic school community must provide students the opportunity to reach their full potential as learners.

We value:

  • God-given gifts and talents
  • Spreading and modeling the Word of God
  • Uniqueness of every individual
  • Excellence in performance
  • Life-long learning
  • Self-discipline and personal growth
  • Teamwork
  • A safe and caring environment
