Good Shepherd School's Profile

Good Shepherd School is located in beautiful Peace River, Alberta. We offer high quality E.C.S. to grade six programming in both English & French Immersion to approximately 450 students. The school is noted for its community-centered approach to working with children and their families, with a strong Catholic focus. Good Shepherd has the reputation as being a "loving, caring & sharing" family community. Our dedicated staff is experienced and innovative. Above all, the school is noted for its exceptional "Christ-like" atmosphere--in our Chapel, in the hallways and classrooms, where religious displays are prominent and celebrations are frequent, but, most of all, at morning assembly, where prayer, song and laughter create a "family" atmosphere.

Accountability Statement

Good Shepherd has the responsibility to provide a Catholic Education to each child who attends school so they have the opportunity to develop spiritually, morally, socially, intellectually and physically in a manner that is modeled on the life of Jesus Christ.

The school has the formal responsibility to ensure that our Catholic beliefs and traditions permeate all aspects of the school experience.

The child is the center of the education that is provided. The Catholic school community must provide students the opportunity to reach their full potential as learners.

Our Mission Statement

To improve student learning in a Christ centered Catholic environment where high standards prepare the children to become successful citizens in our changing world.

Vision Statement

Good Shepherd School will strive to provide a unique and inviting Catholic learning environment that links the home, the parish and the community.

Resources will be distributed fairly so all students have an opportunity to learn in a child-centered, flexible, safe and caring learning environment.

A strong, well informed teaching staff, with an eye to the future, will provide dynamic and innovative programs in well-planned school facilities.

Students will be provided with the opportunity to live the values they are taught. Minorities will be successful, and special students needs and disabilities accommodated. Graduates will be prepared so they are motivated life-long learners grounded in the Catholic faith.
