Holy Family Catholic Regional Division (HFCRD) and High Prairie School Division (HPSD) are pleased to announce the launch of HOSTS’ new program the Difference Maker Project for the High Prairie community. The Difference Maker Project provides financial assistance for students of all ages to participate in activities of any kind. All students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 are welcome to apply (click here to apply) for funding. The first round of applications is now open, and the deadline to apply is May 31st, 2018. The following deadlines will be announced at a later date.
Funding for this project was generously provided to HFCRD by an anonymous donor who is passionate about keeping youth engaged in their community by participating in activities. The funds will be managed by the HOSTS team to ensure they are spread throughout the community. Applications will be accepted four times per year to ensure activities and sports will be supported year-round.
“Extra-curricular activities are very important. They teach children valuable skills like time management, teamwork, and goal setting, and they greatly benefits their mental health and self-esteem. We are very grateful to the anonymous donor for allowing us to provide funding for children to participate in the activities that they love,” said HOSTS Program Coordinator Lauri Davidson. “This program will undoubtedly improve the quality of life for children in our area.”
Activities of any kind are eligible for funding including sports, dance, music and much more. Activities can be after-school, weekends and summer programs. For the full criteria and application, please visit our website here.
