The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division (HFCRD) invites our school and parish communities to say farewell to our NET Ministries Team on Wednesday May 15th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Glenmary School in Peace River. The informal evening will begin at 5:30pm with light snacks, and then an acknowledgement for the NET Team at 6:00pm. All are invited to bid farewell to these seven wonderful young adults who have made a profound difference in HFCRD schools and communities in the last seven months.
“We are very grateful to the NET Team for their year of ministry in our division. These fine young missionaries have proven themselves to be leaders in our school and parish communities. They brighten everyone’s day and bring us all closer to Christ,” said Superintendent Betty Turpin. “Every school and parish that they have visited has welcomed them with open arms. Our division is blessed to have the NET Team this year, and we look forward to welcoming a second team next year!”
The NET Team, comprised of Ethan Pierce, Devin Gras, Hunter Langill, Alexia Flores, Mirjam Welling, Therese-Marie Dunn and Rebecca Harber, arrived in our division in October 2018. Throughout the 2018/19 school year, they shared the love of Christ in all schools and parishes across our division. Although they focused on HFCRD students from grades six through twelve, their ministry reached the entire faith community in each town. The team led retreats and youth groups, participated in music ministry at mass, and interacted with students through classroom presentations.
“I am very thankful to the NET Team for joining us this year. Their ministry was appreciated by all and will be remembered for years to come,” said Faith Permeation Coordinator John Meagher. “I hope they had a wonderful year with us, and we look forward to continuing this positive relationship with NET Canada for years to come.”
HFCRD and NET Canada have partnered for two years (2018/19 & 2019/20 school years). In October 2019, a second team will be sent to HFCRD schools and the process begin again. This new team will follow a similar schedule and have a mandate to reach every school and parish in our division.
