St. Andrews School requires a 1.0 F.T.E. Interim Senior High Language Arts Teacher starting second semester January 31, 2019 - June 28, 2019 with the possibility of extension and ongoing contract if candidate is successful. The position requires the successful candidate to teach primarily High School Social Studies and English Language Arts in Grades 10-12 and potentially other courses within the candidate's skills set. Course assignment will include Social Studies 10-1, Social Studies 30-1, English 20-2.
The successful candidate ideally will have a background and understanding in literacy, be flexible, support working with First Nation, Metis & Inuit students, and social and emotional development of children. The successful candidate requires proficiency in the use of educational technology, an understanding of assessment for learning and be eligible to teach in the Province of Alberta. The candidate must be willing to be working in a rural Catholic community environment who is a team player willing to collaborate, communicate and work together.
