St. Andrews School is seeking a highly motivated educator to join their administrative team in the role of Vice-Principal. The successful candidate will support student success, a commitment to collaborative leadership, a good understanding of school improvement and culture, and able to work in an administrative and school team environment within the context of the school community needs.   

 

The Vice-Principal position will start August 28, 2019. The successful candidate will be offered a probationary administration contract and must be willing to work as a valued member of the administrative team and demonstrate a passion for instructional leadership, initiative and commitment to Catholic education. The assignment will include administrative assigned duties, teaching assignment and coordination roles dependent on the successful candidate’s experience and skill set. St. Andrews School offers a broad range of courses and programming grades K-12.

 

The successful candidate will be a member of the school’s administrative team and participate in division training and initiatives. The position is probationary moving to a continuous contract(s) upon successful evaluation. The successful candidate will also have teaching duties which will be determined according to the applicant’s skill and experience.

0.5FTE Vice-Principal  and 0.5FTE Teaching Assignment/Coordination Roles

  • Student Attendance Monitoring
  • Program Coordination
  • Referrals to and Supervision of School Counsellors
  • Managing Staff Leaves
  • Celebrating Student Success
  • Active Member on Instructional Leadership Team
  • 0.25 FTE Classroom Teaching Assignments based on Candidates skill set

 

The ideal candidate will:
-Be a practicing Catholic who demonstrates a commitment to the Catholic faith.
-Support building a culture of high expectations for students and staff, promoting and model lifelong learning
-Cultivate a climate of mutual respect with students promoting engagement and positive behavioral supports.
-Demonstrate effective communication, facilitation, and problem solving skills
-Has experience and a proven track record as a teacher leader

-Effectively support the planning and management of the human and physical resources

-Demonstrate flexibility and a readiness to take on roles and challenges as they arise in order to meet School and Division goals.

-Must be eligible to be a teacher in the province of Alberta

-Willing to participate in division training and initiatives.

-Preference will be given to applicants with a Master’s Degree or who are working towards their Master’s Degree
